Thomas the Rhymer

Attune Theatre are happy to announce that our next show will be a modern adaptation of Thomas the Rhymer. The show will take place at Offshore Cafe in the West End, and we are looking forward to working with a very talented cast.

Thomas the Rhymer is one Scotland’s most enduring folk tales and is often assoicated with Scottish Independence. In 2012, when the debate about Scottish Independence is beginning ahead of the Indepedence Referendum, this seems like a great time to revisit the tale.

Theatremaker Stewart Schiller fresh from his success at the Lost Theatre One Act Festival is now bringing this tale into the modern age, by following a modern Thomas, who is a MSP in the referendum debate. What follows is a tragicomic tale which examines life in modern Scotland.

Attune’s last show, Belief Beyond Hope, was described as: “ingenious” Jeremy Kingston, The Times
